Getting Your Mindset Right as a Business Owner (Leader)

Getting Your Mindset Right As a Business Owner (Leader)

The difference between a very successful business owner and a mediocre one is the mindset that they have. If you want to be very successful as in your business to lead strong,  your mindset has to be right. So here we will look at the most important elements of a successful business leader mindset.

Confidence is everything

Successful business owners have a high level of confidence. They have a magnetic personality that attracts clients to them in droves. They are fearless and will take on any challenge for their clients.

If you do not believe that your confidence is as high as it could be then you need to work on this. Clients expect you to be confident at all times and deal with them in an attentive and calm way.

Recognizing and owning your strengths and skills not just for yourself, but for your business; knowing these and the benefits you offer (outcomes you provide) will lead to higher levels of self-esteem and self-confidence.

If you’re unsure, then take time to write them down; look back at past accomplishments and what it took to succeed. You can also ask friends and relatives for their opinions, which usually is higher than your belief – see yourself as others do.

Be Clear about what you want

You really need to be clear on what you want from your online coaching business. We are not just talking about money here. Think about your time and how valuable it is. An online coaching business can provide you with a lot of free time when you are up and running. Decide on how much time you are willing to spend on your business.

Always think Solutions

All successful businesses provide good solutions to their clients. It doesn’t matter if this is through live one to one coaching, training courses or a membership site. You need to know what problems your clients have and create effective solutions to these.

Your clients will expect you to have all of the answers. This is not always possible straight away and you need to manage expectations here. Think from the perspective of your clients  about the best solution to their problem as there are many different options your clou can offer. Being solution-focused increases confidence – tap into you expertise to come up with those solutions your clients want.

Your Business needs to fit with your desired Lifestyle

What lifestyle goals do you have? Do you want more time for other projects or to spend more time with your family? Do you want to travel the world? Take time out to come up with a lifestyle plan and design your business around this.

What hours do you want to work? How much money do you need to make to support your lifestyle choices? Push through your comfort zone to achieve your lifestyle goals. There are a number of options available to you, such as creating passive income through creating high quality training courses both in-person and online or through webinars or summits. Since the pandemic, it’s easier than ever to create a lifestyle that ‘fits.’

Set Goals

If you don’t set challenging goals for your business then you will never know if you are succeeding or not. Goals can include: social media posts, blog articles to post, number of emails or reach-outs, attending networking groups (online, in-person), money goals, etc.  Most people do not bother to do this and struggle in their business. As Emmet Smith said: “It’s only a dream until you write it down. Then it becomes a goal.”

Collaborate with Others

Make sure that collaborating with others is part of your mindset. Find influencers in your niche that you can network with and learn from; the best way to move ahead is to surround yourself with successful people to learn and be uplifted; it’s very motivating to be around people with the same energy and purpose.

Collaborations can bring in referrals from those you interact with, so be prepared to give them something in exchange for this, such as reciprocating referrals for your network.  Always remember that others know people that you will never find through advertising and use this to your advantage.

Some suggestions include guest blogging – look for people that own high traffic blogs in your niche: do they accept guest posts? If so create a high quality post (you can outsource this to a professional writer) and then add a link back to your website; be a guest on a podcast show, summit, or online group/community. It’s easier now to collaborate to show your thought-leadership and stand out.

Mindset is the critical piece to starting and growing a business. Keeping the focus on your ‘Why” will keep you in forward motion; the ‘How” can always get figured out. Create a daily habit to positively feed you mindset, such as through affirmation, visioning, and appreciating your accomplishments and skills that created them. Get help if your struggle, such as hiring a coach, who will keep you focused and accountable. Remember: Mindset Matters!
